Team Member of the Month

The DOR Employee of the Month program allows for the nomination, awarding, and celebration of a DOR team member each month of the year.

How to nominate: Complete and submit a Team Member of the Month Nomination Form and send it to DOR.TotalRewards@dor.mo.gov. All required fields on the form must be completed in order for a nomination to be accepted. NOTE: Since this is an intranet (internal) webpage, only state employees will be able to utilize this form of recognition.

Who can nominate: Any DOR team member can nominate another DOR team member. Department directors, deputy department directors, division directors, and deputy division directors (including acting and official) are not eligible to receive the Team Member of the Month award.

Reward: Team members who are selected as Team Member of the Month will get recognition from Department leadership, through social media, and through Rev-E news, as well as one quarterly team building activity/luncheon (if the team member is not located in Jefferson City, there will be a virtual option), professional headshots, a DOR polo, and an etched paper weight commemorating their achievement. Additionally, selected team members will also be considered for the State Employee of the Month award.

Team Member of the Year

The DOR Employee of the Year program allows for the nomination, awarding, and celebration of a DOR team member each December, every calendar year.

How to nominate: Complete and submit a Team Member of the Month Nomination Form and send it to DOR.TotalRewards@dor.mo.gov. All required fields on the form must be completed in order for a nomination to be accepted. NOTE: Since this is an intranet (internal) webpage, only state employees will be able to utilize this form of recognition.

Who can nominate: Any DOR team member can nominate another DOR team member. Department directors, deputy department directors, division directors, and deputy division directors (including acting and official) are not eligible to receive the Team Member of the Month award.

Reward: Team members who are selected as Team Member of the Year will get recognition from Department leadership, through social media, and through Rev-E news, as well as a red-carpet reception with friends, family, and coworkers, a Team Member of the Year plaque, and a choice between 8 hours of administrative leave with pay or a one-year parking pass to Lot 7. 

DOR Awards

The DOR Awards program allows any DOR team member to recognize another team member for their contribution towards success. There are 5 categories for DOR Awards:

  • Citizens First: This award is meant for team members who consistently put citizens first. Team members who share the department’s milestones, work to educate staff about metrics, and/or who help design and provide content for the bureau story boards may also be considered for this category.
  • Role Clarity: This award is meant for team members who help others understand what is expected of them, or team members who explain the entire work process well, including where the work comes from and where it goes afterwards.
  • Leadership: Team members who demonstrate leadership behavior, like engaging others in decisions, empowering team members, and focusing on team member development by encouraging training and development opportunities may be eligible for this award. Team members do not have to be a supervisor to be considered for this award.
  • Recognition: Team members recognize superior performance of their coworkers, and hold themselves accountable and responsible for the success of the team and the work performed.
  • Other: Team members who deserve recognition, but may not fit the requirements of any of the other categories. For example, a team member who is always positive, cheerful and respectful may be nominated for “Creating a Happy Work Place.”

How to nominate: Fill out and submit a DOR Award Nomination Form any time. NOTE: Since this is an intranet (internal) webpage, only state employees will be able to utilize this form of recognition.

Who can nominate: Any DOR team member can nominate another DOR team member.

Reward: Team members who are selected for a DOR Award will receive a framed certificate signed by the DOR Director, and a temporary parking pass (when available). The team member will also be recognized on the DOR intranet and during an upcoming quarterly town hall. 

Service Awards

DOR Service Awards recognize team members for their years of service with the department.

How to nominate: There is no nomination process for this award, recipients are simply selected based on their years of service to the State of Missouri.

Reward: Team members are recognized every year with a certificate on their work anniversary. Additionally, pens are awarded after the first year and again at 5 years (and every 5 years thereafter), and a plaque is awarded after the 20th year (and every five years thereafter).
