
Glennis Evans, Environmental Program Analyst in the Waste Management Unit of the Southwest Regional Office, has been selected as the Division of Environmental Quality Team Member of the Month for May 2026.
Glennis, a 20‑year veteran of the department, continues to exemplify the highest standards of public service. As a subject matter expert in the Land Management Unit, she consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication, professionalism, and integrity in her work with tire processors, haulers, retail collection centers, and scrap tire dumps across the state.
Most recently, Glennis led a complex, multi‑property cleanup effort involving more than 25,000 scrap tires (over 312 tons)! With the responsible party deceased, she stepped beyond her normal duties to guide the remaining estate through the cleanup process and help them navigate applicable solid waste regulations. Her strong professional relationships, sound judgement, and collaborative approach were pivotal in coordinating a successful arrangement between the tire hauler, processor, and all involved stakeholders.
Glennis’s initiative and leadership were instrumental in achieving meaningful environmental improvements. She not only ensured compliance with regulatory requirements but also applied innovative, practical solutions to bring a challenging, large‑scale cleanup to completion. Her commitment to stewardship, clear communication, and teamwork sets a powerful example for all of us.
