Team Member of the Month

The DSS Team Member of the Month program recognizes the accomplishments of a DSS team member, including their commitment to serving Missouri citizens above and beyond their normal duties, demonstrating a high level of productivity and quality work and fostering this in others, a high degree of initiative, exceptional dependability, and continual effective working relationships.

How to nominate: Complete and submit a  Team Member of the Month Nomination Form by the first day of the month. Each nomination will be considered for six consecutive months.

Who can nominate: Any DSS team member can nominate another DSS team member. Department directors, deputy department directors, division directors, and deputy division directors are not eligible to receive the Team Member of the Month award.

Reward: Team members who are selected as Team Member of the Month will get eight hours administrative leave with pay, a certificate, and will be featured on the internal DSS website. These team members will also be considered for the State Team Member of the Month award. In addition, team members who nominate someone selected as the Team Member of the Month will receive four hours of administrative leave in recognition and appreciation of their nomination.

Workplace Wellness Champion of the Quarter

Recognizes DSS team members that champion workplace wellness by promoting wellness in the workplace, inspiring others on their journey to wellness, and/or improving awareness of the agency’s commitment towards workplace wellness.

How to nominate: Complete and submit a Workplace Wellness Nomination Form to DSS.Wellness@dss.mo.gov by the first day of each quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1). Each nomination will be considered for one year.

Who can nominate: Any DSS team member can nominate another DSS team member.

Reward: Team members who are selected as Workplace Wellness Champion of the Quarter will get eight hours administrative leave with pay, a certificate, and will be featured on the internal DSS Workplace Wellness Program website. In addition, team members who nominate someone selected as the Workplace Wellness Champion of the Quarter will receive four hours of administrative leave in recognition and appreciation of their nomination.

Cheers for Peers

An opportunity for DSS team members to recognize or thank other DSS team member’s department- wide for extra effort or a job well done.

How to nominate: Visit Cheers for Peers and select “Leave a Comment.” You will need to fill out all required fields in order for your comment to post. NOTE: Since this is an intranet (internal) webpage, only DSS team members will be able to utilize this form of recognition.

Who can nominate: Any DSS team member can recognize a fellow DSS team member.

Reward: Department-wide recognition on the DSS intranet.

Tenure Recognition

The DSS tenure recognition program recognizes years of service with the Department of Social Services.

How to nominate: There is no nomination process for this award, recipients are simply selected based on their years of service to the State of Missouri.

Reward: In December of each year, certificates for one year of service are sent to individuals that have completed their service in that year. Team members that have reached the five year milestone of service are recognized and team members that reach additional five year milestones beginning with 10 years of service may be awarded the opportunity to select a gift.
