Missouri Department of Natural Resources/Division of Environmental Quality
July 2026 TMOM
Jasmine Jalali, Associate Research/Data Analyst in the Monitoring Section of the Public Drinking Water Branch (PDWB), has been selected as the Division of Environmental Quality Team Member of the Month for July 2026.
For years, PDWB has faced challenges in presenting monitoring data for nearly 100 regulated contaminants in a clear and meaningful trend format. When asked to help solve this longstanding issue, Jasmine approached the problem with curiosity and determination. After exploring multiple tools, including MS Access, Excel, and Tableau, Jasmine independently learned the statistical software R and used it to create clear, concise, and highly effective trend charts. These charts now give a powerful way to identify concerning monitoring results and make more informed decisions about monitoring frequency and treatment strategies.
Jasmine also took the lead in revising the Total Organic Compounds (TOC) compliance calculator, incorporating alternative criteria calculations and improving report language for better clarity. These enhancements have already led to more informed compliance determinations.
“Jasmine provides a friendly and helpful attitude to coworkers and is happy to assist the Monitoring Section and Branch as needed, which has been particularly critical as the Data Management Unit has not been fully staffed since June 2025,” said Tom Adams, the Data Management Unit Chief who nominated Jasmine for this award.
Congratulations Jasmine, on this well‑deserved recognition!
