Hannah Siegel, Environmental Program Assistant in the Public Drinking Water Branch of the Water Protection Program, was selected as the Division of Environmental Quality Team Member of the Month for November 2025. Hannah serves as the Source Water Protection Program Coordinator and, despite having been with the department for less than a year, she has made an immediate and lasting impact on the Source Water Protection Program and the branch as a whole. Her initiative, communication skills, and drive to improve processes have elevated critical programs and strengthened coordination across teams.

In her role, Hannah supports water systems with source water protection plans, implementation efforts, well-plugging activities, and grant administration. She is a fast learner who has developed several clear, effective SOPs and forms that have improved consistency and coordination throughout the unit. She has also enhanced grant communications, incorporated new scoring criteria, and implemented a pre-screening process that ensures assistance reaches the water systems most in need. Thanks to her efforts, there has been a notable increase in both grant applications and awards.
